The Peace Foundation’s work of promoting human rights, social justice, Aboriginal sovereignty and environmental sustainability is put into action through supporting the work of artists and community groups within Australia who challenge and change the world for the better through their art.
Current grants and awards:
Major Grant and Peace Award
An annual grant of $10,000 is awarded to support the creation, development and/or exhibiting or staging of creative work that inspires, motivates and challenges awareness and thinking about human rights, social justice, Aboriginal sovereignty and environmental sustainability. Read more
Minor Grants
From time to time the Peace Foundation is able to award minor grants of up to $2,000 each. These small grants can make a big difference. Read more.
Peace Award at the Fringe
The Peace Foundation has been part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival since 2011, offering an annual Peace Foundation Award. The recipient receives a statuette, $1000 and a Peace Foundation Award Winner Crest for promotional use. Read more
Peace Rules
The Peace Rules Showcase presents the work of secondary schools performing arts students responding to the question what can I do to contribute to peace through the arts? Schools are eligible for the major awards of masterclass workshops for their original performance, film or multi-modal work on the theme of Peace Rules. Read more
Adelaide Park Lands Art Award
As part of the Adelaide Park Lands 2020 Art Prize, the Peace Foundation awarded the $1,500 Art Prize for Inspiring Environmental Debate. This award seeks to energise people to think about and advocate for the environment and the Park Lands. Read more
The Peace Foundation SACE Art Award
Selected from work created by Year 12 Visual Arts students, the Peace Foundation SACE Art Award is presented to a creative piece that is moving, inspiring and thought provoking. Read more
