Kaurna Walking Trail

The Kaurna Walking Trail was planned in collaboration with the Peace Foundation and the Kaurna people, the traditional owners and custodians of the Adelaide plains.

The trail invites reflection on Kaurna life before European settlement and explores the impact of this settlement on Aboriginal people. The first 17 sites can be viewed in a 2-3 hour walk beginning at the Peace Foundation’s Reconciliation Sculpture located outside the King William Street entrance to the Adelaide Festival Centre.

The trail self-guide will soon be available online. In December 2013 an interactive video service will be offered using your mobile telephone during the walk.

The trail can also be used by schools and organisations for cultural awareness training. Schools and organisations wishing to undertake cultural awareness training using the Kaurna Walk should contact the Foundation.
