We were privileged to hear Garry Stewart,  Artistic Director and choreographer for the Australian Dance Theatre speak about Following your passion: Dance as an agent of change. Drawing on his twenty years at the helm of ADT, Garry presented dance as a powerful art form that reflects on the complex socio-political and cultural issues of our times, and like all art, can act as an agent for transformation of thinking and perception.

Congratulations also, to the recipient of the Peace Foundation’s annual Peace Award and $10,000 grant – Origami Flight, for Gateway to the Upsidedown. Director and producer Daz Chandler accepted the award for this truly unique immersive, large-scale installation project.

Other highlights included:

  • Our Silent Art Auction featuring over 40 works
  • Milestones and memories of 30 Years of Working for Peace Through the Arts – a video retrospective and display

The annual dinner and silent auction is the Foundation’s main fundraising event. We would like to thank the many local professional artists who contributed to the very high standard of work for sale at the dinner and the people who donate items for the silent auction.

All funds raised go to artists working for peace in the areas of human rights, social justice and environmental sustainability.
